MIK-OLAP (OLAP = On-Line Analytical Processing) is a multidimensional database opti-mised by means of improved storage techniques and high performance retrieval methods. Business management functions, for example currency conversions, accumulation and averaging, have already been incorporated in the database. Multiprocessor capabilities allow several user queries to be handled simultaneously, significantly increasing the speed of response. In addition, MIK-OLAP minimises data volumes and is thus extremely well suited for use in a network and on stand-alone notebooks.
